OLYMPICS LONDON 2012: Games day 17 in pictures

As thoughts turn to the closing ceremony and bittersweet montages that will set off a nation crying again, there's still gold medals to be won as Great Britain go in the boxing, modern pentathlon and marathon.

Anthony Joshua and Fred Evans try and emulate their teammates Nicola Adams and Luke Campbell to win gold, while Samantha Murray and Mhairi Spence are in the modern pentathlon.

Then it's back to the Olympic stadium for what has been promised to be the greatest aftershow party on Earth.
