18.50: And that's it from the London Games 2012. It's 65 medals for Great Britain, which is well beyond our minimum target of 48 so congratulations to all of the athletes and thank you for entertaining us over the past two weeks.

18.40: MODERN PENTATHLON - So silver for Samantha Murray in the final event, the women's modern penthatlon, as she overcomes an eight second time delay to come from fourth to second. What an acheivement for the 22-year-old.
18.12: MODERN PENTATHLON - And it's silver for the 22-year-old as she crosses the line second. She started fourth so caught up a couple of places to achieve her medal.
18.10: MODERN PENTATHLON - Asadauskaite claims gold and Murray enters the stadium to huge cheers as she is in the silver medal position.
18.08: MODERN PENTATHLON - Murray moves into the silver position and is just holding off Marques now on the final loop. Asadauskaite has a massive lead and should come home for the gold.
18.07: MODERN PENTATHLON - The athletes are entering the third and final shooting range and there's a huge cheer for Murray as she enters the arena. She's closing in on Marques in second now after overtaking Caze in third.
18.05: MODERN PENTATHLON - Murray leaves the shooting range fourth and is running to catch up with Caze in third. Asadauskaite is beginning to pull away a little in the gold medal position with Marques in second.
18.03: MODERN PENTATHLON - Spence has started now and all athletes are in action in this final event. No change in ranks yet so Murray still in fourth and chasing that bronze medal spot as they approach the next shooting range.
18.01: MODERN PENTATHLON - Murray is out and has caught up a few seconds on the people ahead of her. She's currently in fourth place. Spence is further down in 14th.
17.59: MODERN PENTATHLON - We're just about to get underway! The joint leaders will set off together, running to the shooting range before firing their shots and continuing to the next range. Everyone will follow at their allocated time behind.
17.49: MODERN PENTATHLON - This is officially the final event of London 2012 and will be starting in around 10 minutes. Who will claim the final gold, silver and bronze of the Games?
Brit Samantha Murray starts fourth just eight seconds behind the leader, while Mhairi Spence is in 14th and will go 38 seconds behind.

17.38: MODERN PENTATHLON - The last of the Great Britain action starts at 18.00 in the combined final event, which consists of shooting and running. Murray is fourth and will start 8 seconds behind the leader while Spence is in 14th and will go 38 seconds behind.
17.27: Stadiums are being tidied up now as events are finished off and London 2012 comes to an end. There's preparations at the Olympic Stadium for tonight's closing ceremony and that starts at 9pm tonight.
17.08: BASKETBALL - USA narrowly beat Spain 107-100 in a thrilling gold medal match to claim another medal, with USA's Kevin Durant claiming a massive 30 points for his team.
17.06: MODERN PENTATHLON - The final event is a combined running and shooting round, which will start at 18.00.
17.00: MODERN PENTATHLON - All jumpers have gone now in the riding round so here's the results of the third event:
Samantha Murray gets 1140 points and finishes 13th. That puts her on 3236 overall and in fourth place. She'll start the final round only eight seconds behind the leader.
Mhairi Spence scores 1096 for finishing 25th and goes into the final 14th, 38 seconds behind the leader.
16.56: MODERN PENTATHLON - Samantha Murray picks up 60 penalty points in her jumping round and that gives her 1140 points currently. She's in fourth overall so far so just outside a medal position. There's only a few more jumpers to go in this event then it's on to the combined final at 18.00.

16.37: MODERN PENTATHLON - Mhairi Spence scores 1096 points in her jumping round as she picks up 104 penalties. That puts her 17th in the riding event but she's currently sixth overall on 3116 points.
16.35: HANDBALL - France have defeated their title and gold medal in the men's handball final as they claim a close 22-11 victory against Sweden. They were a man down but managed to hang on for the medal.
16.11: MODERN PENTATHLON - This is the only event left for Great Britain today - and in London 2012. We're currently on the third event, show jumping and Brits Spence and Murray are waiting for their turns.
Spence is currently in ninth and due out at 16.34 and Murray sits third and so will jump a little later at 16.52. Melanie McCann currently leads with a total of 3140 points.
16.06: BOXING - The appeal is rejected and the gold stands for Anthony Joshua. That's Great Britain's 29th gold medal of the Games and a wonderful finish to the boxing at the ExCeL.
15.58: BOXING - The Italians are appealing against Anthony Joshua's win as he came from behind in the final round to clinch the gold against Roberto Cammarelle. A decision is expected soon.

15.49: MODERN PENTATHLON - Current leader Katarzyna Wojcik is on a total of 3036 points after her score of 62.74 in show jumping moves her to the top.
Spence, currently in ninth, is due out at 16.34 and Murray, in third, a little later at 16.52 as they look to consolidate their good positions so far.
15.45: That gold takes Great Britain's tally up to 29 and 64 medals overall. That's well over the target of 48 set before the Games, which have been a huge success for the home nation.
VICTORY: Joshua Anthony defeats Roberto Cammarelle on countback to win gold in the men's super heavy weight final
15.35: BOXING - It's victory for Anthony Joshua! He wins the last ruond 8-5 and that makes it 18-18. It goes to a count-back and the Brit is named the winner and clinches the gold medal.
15.30: BOXING - Joshua loses the second round 7-5 and is now 13-10 down overall. The Italian looks in control and Joshua will have to do something special to pull this one back.
15.25: BOXING - It's close after the first round but Joshua trails 6-5 to Cammarelle. There were some good hits from the Italian but Joshua kept in it well.
15.22: BOXING - It's game on! Anthony Joshua and Roberto Cammarelle have started their fight for gold in the men's super heavy weight final.
15.16: MOUNTAIN BIKING - Liam Killeen has reportedly suffered a broken ankle after crashing on the second lap of his cross country race. A disappointing exit for the Brit early on in his race.
Jaroslav Kulhavy claimed the gold medal, finishing in a time of 1:29:07. Nino Schurter finished in silver medal position, followed by Marco Aurelio Fontana.
15.14: BOXING - The national anthems are being sung as Freddie Evans receives his silver medal ahead of the boxing final. It's as full and loud as ever at the ExCeL as the fans wait for the last Great Britain boxer.
15.08: BOXING - Anthony Joshua is about to take on Roberto Cammarelle in the men's super heavy weight final. Joshua is 2nd seed and Cammarelle is fourth and the Italian is reigning world champion so will be a tough opponent.
14.54: MODERN PENTATHLON - The first rider is due out at 15.13 so a little while before the show jumping gets underway. Spence, currently in ninth, is due out at 16.34 and Murray, in third, a little later at 16.52 so they will have the chance to watch their opponents and weigh up the course and the horses first.
14.50: BOXING - Anthony Joshua fights in the men's super heavy weight final in about 20 minutes time and will be hoping he can go one better than Freddie Evans and take the gold for Great Britain.
14.40: BOXING - Excellent Freddie Evans settles for silver in welterweight final.
14.37: MODERN PENTATHLON - The show jumping in underway now. Spence, currently in ninth, is due out at 16.34 and Murray, in third, a little later at 16.52 as they look to consolidate their good positions so far.
SILVER MEDAL: Freddie Evans finishes second best to Serik Sapiyev in the welterweight final
14.35: BOXING - It's 7-4 to Shelestyuk in the third and final round and that's enough for the victory for him. He wins 17-9 overall to claim the gold medal and Freddie Evans must settle for silver.
14.29: BOXING - Freddie Evans loses the second round 6-3 and is down 10-5 overall. He'll need to dig deep here if he wants the gold medal.
14.23: BOXING - In the opening round, Evans looks fairly defensive and he's down 4-2. Still two rounds to go but he'll have to fight his way back into this.
14.17: BOXING - Evans knocked out top seed Shelestyuk in the semi-finals and so will be hoping he can follow that up with victory against second seed Sapiyev.
14.11: BOXING - In less than five minutes, Freddie Evans will take to the final for his final fight of the Olympics 2012 as he takes on Serik Sapiyev in the welterweight final. Will it be gold or silver for the young boxer?
14.05: MODERN PENTATHLON - The next event - the show jumping - gets underway in about 30 minutes. Spence is due out at 16.34 and Murray a little later at 16.52 as they look to consolidate their good positions so far.

13.57: MOUNTAIN BIKING - It's bad news from Hadfield Farm and Liam Killeen crashes on lap two of the men's cross country and is out of the race.
13.41: MOUNTAIN BIKING - After 2.8km, Liam Killeen is in 30th position, 38 seconds behind the leader Manuel Fumic.

SECOND: Samantha Murray races to second in her 200m freestyle heat in the women's modern pentathlon
13.26: MOUNTAIN BIKING - Coming up at 13.30 Liam Killeen competes in the men's cross country at Hadfield Farm and he's out in the fourth line of competitors.
13.22: ATHLETICS - So, final placings from the men's marathon for the Brits then: Lee Merrien finishes 30th in a time of 2:17:00 hours while Scott Overall comes in 61st in 2:22:37 hours.
BATTLE: Mhairi Spence is ninth overall in the women's modern pentathlon at the half-way stage
13.15: MODERN PENTATHLON - Samantha Murray finishes second overall in the swimming with a time of 2:08.20 minutes and collects 1264 points. Mhairi Spence comes tenth in 2:16.51 minutes and so picks up 1164 points. Overall, Murray is third overall on 2096 points and Spence is ninth with 2020.
13.10: ATHLETICS - The marathon gold medal has been claimed by Uganda's Stephen Kiprotich in a time of 2:08:01hours - that's not far off his PB of 2:07:20 hours. Great Britain's Lee Merrien is in 30th and Scott Overall is in 51st.
13.04: MODERN PENTATHLON: Samantha Murray comes second in her 200m freestyle heat with a time of 2:08.20 minutes. That's quicker than Spence's heat so will alter the standings. The winner of her heat, Sarolta Kovacs of Hungary, has set a new modern pentathlon Olympic record time of 2:08.11 minutes.
12.57: MODERN PENTATHLON: Spence has come in third in her heat with a time of 2:16.51minutes. She'll have to wait for the last heat to finish to see where that puts her overall.
Murray is up now in the final heat.
12.55: MODERN PENTATHLON: Mhairi Spence is up in heat four and currently sits 11th overall. She'll be hoping for a good time here and a lot of points to move up the standings.
12.51: ATHLETICS - One of the athletes in the marathon is not running for a country - he's representing the world instead and is in a black and grey strip. Guor Marial is from South Sudan but as his country hasn't yet joined the IOC he can not run for them and so will represent the whole world instead.
12.48: BASKETBALL - In the men's bronze medal match Russia have defeated 2004 Olympic champions Argentina 81-77 in what was a very close match throughout. Argentina aren't happy with the result but it's the Russians who are celebrating and will take home their first ever basketball medal.
12.41: HANDBALL - Croatia's men clinch third place and the bronze medal after overcoming Hungary 33-26 in the bronze medal playoff match.
12.34: Seb Coe has declared Mo Farah Britain's best ever runner after he picked up two gold medals at London 2012.
12.30: ATHLETICS - At the 25km mark, Scott Overall is up to 27th and Merrien is in 46th - both Brits keep moving up the rankings and have another 20km to keep pushing.
12.15: ATHLETICS - They are past the half way mark now in the marathon and Scott Overall has moved up a couple more places to sit in 29th now. Merrien too is continuing to move up in the placings and is in 50th.
12.05: MODERN PENTATHLON - Spence and Murray are back in action at 12.35 in the swimming 200m freestyle event. Spence goes in heat four while Murray follows in heat five. They currently stand 11th and 16th overall.

12.00: ATHLETICS - There's 22.5km to go in the men's marathon as they pass St Paul's Cathedral. A few small groups are beginning to pull away now but the Brits are still in place for respectable finishes.
11.55: ATHLETICS - The athletes have passed the 15km mark now and Merrien is up to 53rd and Overall has shot up to 34th.

11.49: BASKETBALL - Russia lead 2004 Olympic champions Argentina 40-38 at half time in the men's bronze medal match.
11.37: ATHLETICS - The men's marathon has passed the 10km mark and Great Britain's men are begining to move up the places a little. Overall now sits in 43rd while Merrien is in 58th.

11.30: ATHLETICS - The marathon has passed Westminster and the Bank of England as the men run through the streets of London. Franck de Almeida of Brazil currently leads the race.
11.27: In general Olympics news, gold medalist Ben Ainslie refuses to rule out Rio return.
11.23: ATHLETICS - At the 5km mark, Overall is 51st and Merrien is 76th in the men's marathon.

11.02: ATHLETICS - And they're off in the men's marathon. It's 26,2 miles around the streets of London and Great Britain have Lee Merrien and Scott Overall in the hunt for a medal.
10.56: Great Britain start the day with 28 gold medals, 15 silver and 19 bronze - that's a total of 63 medals from this Games. There's still time to add a few more too, as Team GB has two boxing finals, mountain biking, cross country and the modern pentathlon all scheduled for today.

10.45: ATHLETICS - The men's marathon gets underway in about 15 minutes, with Lee Merrien and Scott Overall running at the mall for Great Britain.
10.40: So, it's been a quiet morning so far in terms of Great Britain events but here's a quick catch up:
Samantha Murray and Mhairi Spence are competing in the women's modern penthalon and kicked off their campaigns for gold at 8.00 this morning with fencing. Spence finished 11th overall and Murray is in 16th. Their next event is the swimming at 12.35.
10.15: Prime Minister David Cameron has confrimed that funding for elite athletes will stay in place up to 2016, but the PM was given a rough ride over the legacy plan and grassroots sport. An uncomfortable morning for Mr Cameron as he deflected questions.
