World Para Athletics (WPA) has unveiled an exciting update to its 2025 Grand Prix calendar, with three new cities joining the roster for a season brimming with competitive spirit and athletic excellence. Marrakech in Morocco, Guadalajara in Mexico, and Paris in France will serve as host locations, bringing together elite athletes from around the globe to showcase their prowess in adaptive sports.

New Venues for an Exciting Season

Marrakech will kick off its hosting duties in April at the stunning Grand Stade de Marrakech. This vibrant Moroccan city first joined the Grand Prix circuit in 2022, and will proudly celebrate its fourth consecutive year as part of this prestigious series. The atmosphere in Marrakech promises to be electric as athletes push their limits on the track and field in front of passionate fans.

Continuing the momentum, the Jalisco Grand Prix in Mexico is scheduled for early May. This event marks a significant return for WPA to Mexican soil, where athletes will once again have the opportunity to compete in an environment that has come to be known for its enthusiastic crowds and vibrant culture. As they race for podium finishes, the stories of determination and triumph will no doubt reignite the spirit of these athletes and inspire future generations.

The tour then moves to Paris, a city steeped in history and synonymous with sporting legacy. The Charlety Stadium is set to host the Paris Grand Prix in June, following its successful role as the venue for the 2023 Para Athletics World Championships and the recently held Paralympic Games. Athletes from across the globe will have the chance to etch their names into the annals of para athletics history, competing on the same track where countless memorable performances have unfolded.

In addition to these new stops, WPA had previously confirmed four additional host cities for 2025: Dubai in the UAE, Cali in Colombia, Tunis in Tunisia, and Olomouc in Czechia. The Olomouc Grand Prix will be particularly momentous, marking the first-ever All-Women Grand Prix in para athletics history. This significant initiative highlights the importance of women in sport and the continuous push for equality in athletic opportunities.

  • Jalisco, Mexico – 5 to 12 May 2025
  • Cali, Colombia – 12 to 19 May 2025

  • Tunis, Tunisia – 12 to 19 June 2025
  • Olomouc, Czechia – 3 to 5 July 2025 (All-Women Grand Prix)

This diverse range of locations not only showcases the increasing popularity of para athletics worldwide, but also underscores a commitment to inclusivity. Each event offers a new stage for different athletes to shine, and as they cross the start lines, they carry the weight of their dreams, competing not just for medals, but for recognition as elite performers in the world of sport.

As competitors converge in these exciting venues, the atmosphere will be undoubtedly charged with energy. Athletes will revel in the opportunity to achieve personal bests and make their mark in the sport. The memories created on these tracks will resonate across borders, celebrating the indomitable spirit of those who compete against incredible odds.

The addition of new stops in Marrakech, Guadalajara, and Paris heralds a burgeoning future for para athletics, expanding its reach and recognition. WPA will be announcing further Grand Prix locations for 2025 in due course, continuing to enhance the opportunities available for athletes competing at the highest level.
